This is a bad season for the Arizona Cardinals wide receiver room.
Christian Kirk is signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars and AJ Green at the No. 2 receiver spot on the free agent market.
NFL.com’s Charles Davis believes the draft can provide a great opportunity for the Cardinals to fill in the gaps.
At No. 23, Davis’ pick in the draft draft is Arizona’s Dirk Lindsay, who is a wide receiver from USC.
Great frame, great product. Larry Fitzgerald moved to the slot and placed terrific numbers at the end of his career. London moved into and developed most of the USC in 2021. He can do the same to help QB Keller Murray get the card back in the playoffs – and possibly win a post season or two.
Thriving is unusual for London’s performance in 2021. He caught 88 receptions for 1,084 yards and recorded seven touchdowns in eight games before suffering a season-ending knee injury in late October.
His 6-foot-5, 210-pound frame is shaped like a green, standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 207 pounds. It will also keep Rondale Moore in line inside the ring.
However, there are two bright issues with Davis’ language draft: What is the wide receiver position that Arizona needs the most attention for? And will London’s Talent also be at No. 23?
Strengthening the defensive line is a big priority and a talented pass-rusher still needs to replace Chandler Jones for the Cardinals, who signed with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Cornerback is also a position that will always need a level of depth, with the signing of Arizona Jeff Gladney, the appearance of Marco Wilson and Byron Murphy Jr. increasing.
The wide receiver class for the 2022 NFL Draft is packed with players and Davis’ draft draft shows it.
The six recipients will be selected in the first round, with Garrett Wilson (No. 8), Chris Olav (No. 16) and Johan Dotson (No. 22) taking precedence over London. With a deep receiver class, it’s possible that the Cardinals could pick a receiver on the second or three days of the draft that could deliver the No. 2 receiver’s production.
Will the Cardinals win London with a No. 23 pick? Probably not. Will he be available when the Cardinals are on the clock? Most likely
