Women’s Soccer Unveils 2022 Schedule

ATLANTA, Ga. – A new season dawns for the University of Central Arkansas women’s soccer team, as the ASUN announces the conference schedule for the Fall of 2022. The Bears, announcing their entire fall schedule, will see some new faces and new places, as well as some familiar foes along the way.

With a pair of returners having received all-conference honors, the Bears look to reload for their second season in the ASUN. Senior defender Gracie Hair returns after a First-Team All-ASUN season a year ago, having led the defense to seven shutouts while scoring six points with a pair of goals and two assists. Hadley Barham, who was named to the ASUN All-Freshman team, also returns to the back line for Central Arkansas. After starting all 17 matches, Barham looks to build off a successful rookie campaign and help the Bears claim a second-straight ASUN West title.

“I believe our nonconference schedule will have some great competition and should prepare us well for the conference schedule,” Head coach said Jeremy Bishop said. “We are very excited for our second season in the ASUN. Our first season in the ASUN was successful but we want this season to be even better, and I have no doubt that we can make that happen.”

Opening the season on August 14 with an exhibition against Southeast Missouri State, the regular season officially kicks off with a road game against Missouri State on August 18. The Bears will then split home and away with a couple of instate opponents, playing at Arkansas State before hosting Little Rock for their home opener on August 25.

A two-game set in Tulsa, Okla., Will see games against Oral Roberts and Tulsa before returning home against Grambling. Then on September 11, the Bears will host the Cowgirls of Oklahoma State to close the nonconference schedule.

Central Arkansas will then open ASUN play on the road, taking a trip deep into the Bluegrass State for games against Bellarmine and Eastern Kentucky on September 15 and 18. The Bears will hold their ASUN home opener against newcomer Austin Peay on the 22nd before playing Lipscomb on the 25th.

Back on the road, Central Arkansas will make the first trip to Virginia, facing Liberty as well as the ASUN’s newest member in Queens College to close September and roll into October. Closing out the regular season, the Bears will get two-straight Thursdays off and round out the home schedule against North Alabama before a road game at Florida Gulf Coast will complete the regular season.

“The team worked hard this spring and I know they will continue to prepare for the fall season with the same focus and intensity this summer,” Bishop said. “We can’t wait to get back out there in front of our home fans.”
