Tennis Begins Fall Slate at Asheville on Saturday

CLINTON, SC – The Presbyterian College women’s tennis team opens the fall season on Saturday with a trip to Asheville, NC to compete in the Emily McNall Classic hosted by UNC Asheville.

TIME: September 24-25, All Day
LOCATION: The Asheville Racquet Club Downtown (Asheville, NC)

– The Blue Hose are one of five teams competing this weekend in Asheville. PC is joined by UNCW, St. Thomas, Wofford and the host Bulldogs.
– The current schedule has the Blue Hose playing doubles matches on Saturday morning against Wofford and St. Thomas before battling UNCW in singles matches in the afternoon.
– Sunday the Blue Hose will battle UNCW in doubles and St. Thomas and Wofford in singles action.

– Presbyterian returns four players from last season’s team while adding a pair of new faces to the squad for the 2022-23 season.
– Fourth year head coach Joel Roberts welcome back junior Luciana Piedra (Mexico City, Mexico), sophomore Madison Dennett (Palm City, Fla.), Valentina De Sousa (Caracus, Venezuela) and Claudia Sanchez (Betera, Valencia, Spain).
– Roberts also welcomes McKenzie Davis (Florence, SC) and Claire Giddings (Milton, Ga.) as the two freshman to the roster for the 22-23 season.

– Following the trip to Asheville, the Blue Hose returned to the courts on Oct. 1-2 for the Western Carolina Invitational. The fall slate continues the following week on the 7th & 8th at Lander in the Lander Invitational.
– PC is then set to venture to the ITA Regionals on October 13th hosted by Wake Forest.
– The Blue Hose wrap up the fall schedule with a road dual against Newberry on October 21st at 2 pm…
