His older brother Till Banbury was selected to Sporting KC in 2010, scored 24 goals and eight assists and helped the club win the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup in 2012 and the MLS Cup in 2013.

Bunbury joined the Sporting KC Academy in 2020, competing for U-17 and U-19 before signing an academic contract with SKC II in September 2021. Ahead of the MLS NEXT Pro season 2022, Bunbury signed another academic contract with SKC II . Last week, he scored his first professional goal in SKC II’s 2-0 win over Minnesota United.
