In Atlanta, Evans will reunite with Dan Pease, the Falcons’ defensive coordinator who played that role for Tennessee during the linebacker’s first two NFL seasons. Atlanta coach Arthur Smith was also with the Titans for three of the four seasons in the House, including two offensive coordinators.

Evans has 57 tackles, three tackles for loss, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one touchdown recovery for Tennessee in 12 games, including 11 starts in 2021.

Teddy’s injury surpassed Evans for five games during the campaign, and his playing time was cut short after returning and the Titans acquired Zach Cunningham, a former Pinson Valley High School star who competed with the Houston Texans in 2020. Led by L.J. Evans played three defensive snaps in the Tennessee regular-season final and was inactive for the Titans’ playoff contest.

Atlanta linebacker Foyesade Oluokun led the NFL in 192 with 2021 tackles, but he left in free agency last month for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Falcons have only three linebackers on their off-season list – Jordan Brayford, Lorenzo Carter and Rashad Smith. No one has played for the Falcons, and Carter only played in the 2021 season, when he started 14 games for the New York Giants. Carter joined Atlanta last month through free agency.

In the Class 6A Line of the Year at Auburn High School in 2013 and the American Football Coaches Association First Team All-American Alabama in 2017, Evans entered the NFL as the 22nd player selected in the 2018 draft.

The pre-season injury slowed Evans early in his career, and he started seven games as a rookie for the Titans.

In the 2019 and 2020 seasons, Evans started every game for Tennessee and contributed 207 tackles.

Last offseason, the Titans refused to exercise their authority over the House contract for the fifth season. This option would guarantee Evans $ 2022 million for a season of 9.735.
