2:30pm: Match Abandoned

The umpires decide no play will be possible at any point today with a number of damp areas remaining on the outfield from the rain earlier in the day.

1.35pm: A further inspection planned for 2.30pm

The rain has stopped and the result of the post-lunch pitch inspection is that there will be another inspection at 2.30pm.

There are still areas of the outfield which are wet, but the umpires want to give the match every chance of getting underway.

The ground staff have resumed their work and fingers crossed we can have a positive update to bring to you in an hour.

1.00pm: No change here

There’s still some drizzle around as we approach the planned inspection at 1.30pm.

The ground staff have still been unable to continue their work. The outfield remains extremely wet.

12.00pm: The rain continues to fall

No further updates here as the rain is still coming down and the ground staff are unable to do any further work on the outfield.

We are told the latest possible start time today is 4.56pm which would allow for a 10 overs per side fixture.

As it stands, the umpires will be unable to inspect at the planned time of 1.30pm.

11.20am: It’s raining again

The full covers are coming back on and the clean-up operation has been suspended as the rain has returned.

It isn’t looking good.

10.50am: News from the middle

It’s stopped raining which has allowed the umpires to take a look and the decision is that lunch will be taken at 1pm. Following which, there will be a ground inspection at 1.30pm.

The covers have been partially removed and we are told it is extremely wet underneath with a lot of work being required to try and get some play.

Fingers crossed we have seen the last of the rain for today and we can bring you better news this afternoon.

10.15am: The umpires have arrived

The rain is still falling quite lightly here and the umpires have just been out for a brief walk around the outfield.

If the rain does stop soon, it looks as though it will be a longer clean-up job than was required on Sunday, which only started at 3.15pm.

9.45am: We are set for another delayed start in Sedbergh

Good morning from, once again, an extremely wet Sedbergh School. Following heavy overnight rain, we still have some light drizzle around and there is a lot of standing water on the outfield.

There is no word from the umpires yet, but we certainly won’t be starting at 11am.

In the event of the weather improving, today’s match will be live streamed on LancsTV.
