Pro Football Focus Doug Cade Former Arizona State cornerback Jack Jones is set to visit the Patriots on Wednesday with a panel.
Jones, the USC transfer, will become the second cornerback to visit New England, with Marcus Jones allegedly visiting him earlier this week. Jones is a product of the Long Beach Polytechnic High School, the alma mater of Patriots Hall of Famer Willie McGinest and the famous Los Angeles Rams / Pittsburgh Steelers super-fan Snoop Dogg. He also played in the hip-hop legend’s football league as a teenager.
Despite coming off a splendid 2022 campaign, which is why he recorded three interceptions and six pass rushes, the 5-foot-11, 171-pound defensive back is expected to be a late-round draft pick.

The calendar has moved on to the month of April, meaning the New England Patriots are officially starting to put together their final preparations for the NFL Draft. The latest NFL Draft rumors suggest that they may keep their eyes on a particular day.
According to Draft Network’s Ryan Fowler, The Patriots will host Trevor Penning for their Top 30 tours. Panning will become the fourth player to visit the Top 30 with the Patriots, as Houston cornerback Beck Marcus Jones, Stephen F. Panning is a 6-foot-7, 325-pound tackle from Northern Iowa and has served as the draft racer’s biggest racer. As an FCS product, Painting’s efforts throughout the season were enough to invite him to the Senior Bowl, where he really made a name for himself as one of the most physically impactful prospects in the entire class.
Penning played for a senior bowl ‘national team’ coached by the New York Jets’ coaching staff. His week was impressive, voting for the defensive lineman of the week, the defensive lineman and linebackers he faced during this week’s practice. Last month he showed another strong one, this time in the combine, a 4.89 second forty yard dash and a very respectable 4.62 second short shuttle time.
A visit to the Top 30 is not necessarily indicative of a team’s intention of drafting a specific player, but rather an opportunity for the team to gather more information and to build relationships that look like a Senior Bowl or Establish relationships in a more close setting than the players. The painting is expected to be drafted in the first round of this month’s draft. He has been viewed by many as a member of the class following Ikem Ekwonu, Evan Neal, and Charles Cross. New England is currently the 2022th overall pick in the 21st NFL Draft.
