Once the 2022 NFL Draft weekend concludes, the Baltimore Ravens have secured an impressive 11-player draft class that has the potential to contribute in a big way both now and in the future. The team valued both offense, defense and special teams over the course of the three days, and added plenty of talent to all three sides of the ball.
When ranking each team’s 2022 draft class, Gennaro Filice and Dan Parr put each group’s rookies in order from No. 1 to No. 32. Baltimore came in at the top of the list at No. 1, with Parr explaining that the Ravens got an incredible amount of talent and value.
“… Using NFL.com analyst Daniel Jeremiah’s prospect rankings as a guide, no team added more top-150 talent than Baltimore. The squad’s first pick of the draft set was the tone for what was to come. Hamilton’s stock wasn’t helped by his timed speed at the NFL Scouting Combine and his pro day, but he was NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein’s highest-graded prospect this year. Jeremiah ranked him fifth overall. Landing him at No. 14 could prove to be a steal. The Ravens then selected the top center in the draft (Linderbaum), a player who was considered a likely top-15 pick prior to his Achilles during his pro day (Ojabo) and one of the most dominant performers from the Reese’s Senior Bowl ( Jones). Their record six fourth-round picks yielded a massive Faalele, who could become a starting right tackle, and more good value in Armor-Davis, Kolar and Likely. Some people may not love going with a punter in Round 4, but I’m not going to argue about a team of specialists that has demonstrated what it does in that department. Baltimore might have just walked away with six or seven future starters… ”
Adding Kyle Hamilton and Tyler Linderbaum kicked off the first round for an eventful draft weekend, but both players are best at their respective positions in 2022. Adding David Ojabo and Travis Jones on Day 2 was great value, and Baltimore’s seven days. 3 selections have the potential to carve out meaningful roles for themselves. Looking back on this class should be a few years fun, especially with how much potential it has to be one of the best in franchise history.
