Mexico’s Antonio Moran defeated Midland High grad Michael Dutchover in a 10-round super lightweight bout of the Last Chance Tournament in Plant City, Florida, on Friday.

Moran won the scorecards, 100-90, 100-90, 99-91 to improve to 28-5-1 with 19 knockouts. The “West Texas Warrior” Dutchover fell to 16-3 (10 KOs).

Moran advances to face Kendo Castaneda in the finals of the Last Chance Tournament on Nov. 4 in Plant City. Castaneda (19-5, 5 KOs), of San Antonio, defeated Joseph Fernandez (14-6-3, 5 KOs), of St. Petersburg, Florida, in a 10-round unanimous decision.

Dutchover suffered a cut around his right eye in the sixth round and Moran seemed to control the fight, according to boxingscene.com.

The loss was the second in three fights for the 24-year-old Dutchover, who was looking at the Last Chance Tournament as a way to get back into contention for a title belt.
