‘Loki’: Everything We Know About Season 2 So Far | Entertainment

While Disney+’s Marvel series slate continues to grow, only one live-action show has been renewed for a second season so far, and that would be Loki.

The series following Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief took the streamer by storm in the summer of 2021, and following its Season 1 finale, fans were promised a second chapter in the ongoing story. Thankfully, after months without any news regarding the series, Marvel has offered fans some promising updates on the project. Below, we’re breaking down all of the details regarding a premiere date, casting, production, and much more.

Premiere Date

While no exact date has been set, Marvel has revealed Loki Season 2 is currently slated to arrive in the Summer of 2023, about two years after its Season 1 debut. The show’s placement on the Marvel calendar also hints at what titles fans will see before the show returns. As of July 2022, titles expected to arrive before Loki Season 2 included Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania, Secret Invasionand Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Production

In February 2022, it was revealed that filming would take place in London during summer. Since then, filming has begun as evidenced by photos taken by fans while shooting takes place around the UK

Cast

The series remains strong with its cast of characters as Tom Hiddleston is set to return alongside Owen Wilson’s Mobius, Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Ravonna Renslayer. It has since been revealed that Season 1’s Eugene Cordero had been promoted to a series regular in Season 2, he previously portrayed TVA worker Casey and Hunter K-5E.

It was also announced that Blindspotting‘s Rafael Casal would join the show in a major role that has yet to be revealed. At San Diego Comic-Con it was also announced that Loki would return for its second season during the summer of 2023, making it roughly two years between the show’s next chapter and its first season run.

During Disney’s D23 Expo, Kevin Feige revealed Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once) has also joined the MCU for Loki‘s second outing. As for Season 1’s Wunmi Mosaku who played, Hunter B-15, she’ll also return. It’s unclear at this time if Jonathan Majors’ will reprise his role in person, but one of He Who Remains’ many variants is sure to loom large as Kang takes over as the MCU’s big bad.
