Lighthouse Family Entertainment hopes to reach out to the public through quality entertainment | Home Affairs

The people of First Baptist Church Inverness were struggling with something for a while.

Although they have a beautiful, comfortable place with a sanctuary that seats more than 800 people, they use it only a few times a week.

Not only that, they wanted the people in the community to know that the church cared about them, in every aspect of their lives.

Church leaders felt that God was directing them to do more in society, to make themselves more visible.

That led to the formation of a nonprofit organization, Lighthouse Family Entertainment (LIFE), to bring high-quality, family-friendly dramas, and to invite the public.

The LIFE Summer Concert Series kicks off on June 4, with Rocky and Rollers.

This is nothing new or unusual for churches, said Jim Hayden, chairman of the board of directors of LIFE.

For the past six years my (past) church, Mariner United Methodist Church in Spring Hill, has been doing it, and has grown to be six or seven weekends a year for concerts. provided by music professionals and actors, ”he said. They are mostly world-class players, but they are always family-friendly.

Hayden said it was a bridge between the church and the community.

“With the First Baptist Church, we can accommodate more than 800 people, we have all the technology available with projector screens and lights, we have what we need to bring professional boat operators. and Vegas, “he said. .

And since they are not for profit, any money will go back to the community through various church services and charities.

LIFE already has theaters registered until the year 2023.
