Keep Elite Women’s Rugby in the North East

We are in the unfortunate position of being forced to withdraw from the Allianz Premier 15s League due to the lack of funding to support our 2022-2023 season.

Sharks are now reaching out to you to ask for your financial support in helping us bridge the gap in the shortfall of the basic running costs required to compete in the league this season. This means you would be helping us keep women’s elite rugby alive in the North East.

We are Darlington Mowden Park Sharks (DMP Sharks), the only North East women’s rugby team playing in the Allianz Premier 15s, the leading domestic women’s competition in world rugby. Sharks have produced and supported over 50 England International representative level players over the past 15 years.

There is a raft of talent in the region that will go unnurtured and underdeveloped if the team does not have the ability to play and coach. Women and girls across the North East would be denied the chance to compete at the highest level and grow or pursue their dreams of playing for their country.

The money raised will be spent on the basic running costs of DMP Sharks, enabling us to compete in the Allianz Premier 15s during the 2022 – 2023 season.

To make our project a reality, we really need your help. Here are some of the best ways that you can help us.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards yourself. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

Thank you
