Joe Tait Foundation golf outing is coming up

MEDINA, Ohio – You won’t find many area residents who don’t know who Joe Tait was. After the death of the beloved “Voice of the Cavs,” the Joe Tait Foundation was formed to benefit Tait’s three core passions: trains, veterans and journalism.

The 2021 event helped the Lodi Railroad Museum secure a Norfolk & Northern caboose. Tait was a founding member of that museum and dreamed one day of being a train engineer.

The second Joe Tait Golf Outing, to benefit Medina County veterans, will be held on Friday, Aug. 19 at Bunker Hill Golf Course at 3860 Pearl Road in Medina with Registration and breakfast starting at 8 am including a putting contest, too. The 4-person scramble begins at 9 am and at 2 pm there will be a BBQ dinner and awards. Music, raffles and more will be part of the fun.

Cost is $110 per golfer or $35 for dinner only if paid by Aug. 12 and $125 and $40 if paid after Aug. 12.

Registration can be made online at https://birdease.com/tait2022 For more information about the outing, contact Chad Gibson at [email protected] or text him at 216-469-9241.

For those who would like to help but can’t make the golf outing, the Foundation suggests making a $35 family donation to the Joe Tait Foundation at PO Box 832, Lodi OH 44254 or for more information, email [email protected]
