City Series championship tournament
Junior Reece Caraboolad won the first singles bracket to lead Firestone (7-3, 5-0) to a City Series team championship Monday at Hyre Park’s Glenn Young Tennis Courts.
Caraboolad topped Ellet junior Niko Vitor 1-6, 6-0, 6-2 in the final round.
“I had to pull through today,” said Caraboolad, who has a 7-2 record in first singles matches in 2022.[Vitor] was getting in my head. The first set, for sure, going 0-6. I had to get out of my head and play my game that I know best and pull through. I was able to bring the fire back in the second set and the third set. “
Caraboolad was one of Firestone’s five champions. Falcons junior Antonio de Ceballos Alvarez (second singles), senior Nico Teodosio (third singles) and second doubles partners senior Enzo Lewis-Baranyai and junior Leonard Wendler were the others.

“The guys played great,” said Firestone coach Craig Sampsell. “Everybody expected to win. The big one was the first doubles team. They lost to Ellet twice during the season, but played really well today taking it to the third set. I am satisfied with what they put out there. Everybody improved across the board. “
The following Ellet players finished second: Vitor (first singles), senior Tim Wisner (second singles), junior Nacho Munoz (third singles) and senior second doubles partners David Le and Evan Merideth.
