Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been discussing England’s attacking options and Liverpool target Jarrod Bowen.
The Three Lions have a depth of wide options at the moment, and Bowen seems to be in the mix to go to the World Cup having featured in each of Gareth Southgate’s last two squads.
However, unfortunately for the West Ham man, he hasn’t had the best of starts this season, and his place on the plane to Qatar hangs in the balance.
Bowen has been impressing in England training though. In fact, Seaman went up to watch the Three Lions at St George’s Park earlier this year and he states that Bowen was by far the best finisher in the group – and that’s including Harry Kane.
Bowen is clinical
Seaman shared what he saw from Bowen.
“When I went up to St George’s Park at the end of last season I watched all of the goalkeepers training and they did a shooting exercise and he was by far the best finisher of the whole lot, of the whole lot. Unreal he was,” Seaman said.
“Are we putting Kane within that?” Seaman was asked.
“Yeah, and I was like ‘wow’ the pace he was getting, he was brilliant but when you look at the quality we’ve got.”
Could replace Salah
Comments like this genuinely make us believe that Jarrod Bowen could be Mohamed Salah’s eventual replacement at Liverpool.
The Reds have been linked with Bowen for the longest time, and as he continues to grow and develop, the more and more he looks like a top six player.
He’s technically good enough to play for a team like Liverpool, and with the right coaching under a manager like Jurgen Klopp, he should soon be smart enough to be a bona fide star for a top six club.
Bowen could be a star for England for years to come.
