Bainbridge’s baseball team (18-2) secured a state tournament berth after knocking off Bonney Lake 7-2 in district play Saturday. Senior JR Ritchie struck out 12 batters to pick up the win and added a three-run homer to lead the Spartans’ offense. Bainbridge’s next game is Saturday in the district semifinals against Auburn at 11 am
Crosspoint’s baseball team (17-1) faces Orcas Island on Tuesday at 1 pm at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds. The Warriors beat Evergreen Lutheran 25-0 on Saturday in a 1B district game and are one victory away from securing a regional berth.

Olympic League 2A baseball teams open district play Tuesday. North Kitsap (17-2) hosts Highline at 4 pm, Kingston (6-8) travels to Evergreen (Seattle) at 4 pm, Olympic (11-8) plays at Enumclaw at 4 pm, and Bremerton (7-9) hosts Renton at 4:15 pm North Kitsap and Olympic are playing in winner-to-state games, while Kingston and Bremerton are playing in loser-out games.
Central Kitsap’s boys soccer team scored a lopsided win in its West Central / Southwest Bi-District 3A playoff opener on Saturday as the Cougars overwhelmed Lakes 8-1. Landon Christian scored a hat trick and South Sound Conference most valuable player Jake Mackenzie added a pair of goals.
Central Kitsap (12-3-1) faces another loser-out game Tuesday against Mountain View at 7:30 pm at Art Crate Stadium in Spanaway. If the Cougars win, they’ll play in a winner-to-state game on Thursday.

Olympic League 2A boys soccer teams begin to play in the West Central / Southwest Bi-District tournament Tuesday. North Kitsap (11-3-0) hosts Clover Park, Bremerton (11-5-0) plays at Fife, and Kingston (6-9-0) plays at Foster. All games start at 6 pm For North Kitsap and Bremerton, Tuesday’s games are winner-to-state contests. Kingston needs two victories in order to qualify for state.
