Just when the Chicago Bears receiver room couldn’t be any more injured, they are. According to Mike Garafolo, receiver N’Keal Harry is undergoing tightrope surgery on Thursday after suffering a high-ankle sprain. It appears the timeline for a return is roughly eight weeks.

The Bears acquired Harry in a trade this offseason with the New England Patriots. Harry, a former first-round draft pick, was unable to live up to the hype with his former team. He only cost the Bears a seventh-round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Harry’s best career season came in 2020 when he hauled in 33 catches for 309 yards and two touchdowns. However, he has not reached the endzone since that COVID-impacted season. Now, Harry will have to wait for redemption this season until his injury heals.

The Bears’ receiver room is already banged up. In fact, matters got worse when David Moore had to be carted off the field on Tuesday at Solder Field. At the moment, Darnell Mooney and a handful of others remain healthy in a positional group that was already littered with question marks entering 2022.

Ideally, majority of the Bears’ receivers will get healthy soon. However, the team might have to dip into the open market to temporarily fill some voids.
